Hello Max,

I am currently the only one Fedora ambassador in Vietnam but I believe that I can organize the Release Party with support from you (ideas, funding, etc.), other ambassadors (ideas), my colleagues (all my company use Fedora) and my local communities (organizing).

I am currently member of HanoiLUG (http://www.hanoilug.org/).
I am the most active contributor for Fedora in HanoiLUG, the sponsor/maintainer for Fedora mirror here: http://virror.hanoilug.org/#fedora

We organized some similar parties for Ubuntu.
Some friends ask me that why we do not have similar party for Fedora. And that's here. I think some ideas could be reused.

I will make a schedule for this event and give you later.
Please also tell me step by step to get funding.

Kind regards,
Tuan

Subject: [Ambassadors] Fedora 11 Release Parties

Hi,

If you're interested in a Fedora 11 release event, please add your
information here, for tracking purposes.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Release_Party

As in the past, we'll make $100-$200 USD of budget available to help
seed the events and give organizers some funding to use at their
discretion. It will help tremendously if you are able to be reimbursed
via PayPal.

Possible ideas for Release Parties:

(1) Having a LiveUSB installfest, and having local mirrors so that
people can do local network installs.

(2) Sponsoring food & drinks at a LUG meeting, and having the "keynote"
talk of the night be about Fedora 11, what you do for Fedora, and how
others can contribute.

(3) If you are in an area with a number of Fedora contributors, get them
all together and just have a little troubleshooting session for others,
and do some random hacking on stuff, or just enjoy each other's company
and revel in the success of a release.

(4) Whatever you can imagine.

Thanks,
Max
