GRUB is a boot loader, one of its goals is to be as small as possible, 
for high-resolution it would need graphic drivers for various cards, 
would need to probe the monitor for the supported video modes and so on. 
Add sound and mouse control to that and the boot loader would become a 
multimedia operating system on its own.
