Is it possible to make the bettery icons scripted?

Maybe useless eye-kandy for the battery icon, but it does open up
exciting possibilities, no? :)

How do other applications do it (eg. with cairo)? Maybe the Desktop
mailing list could help out with this. It might be easier than we think.
