It woud be nice to have it's functions integrated in the current theme selector, and have one tool to control everything. But, if that's not possible having gursor in the preferences too, would not be bad. I've been trying it, and it works ok. The only feature, that it won't do is to change instantly the cursor theme we need to restart the X so it apply the changes. But maybe this can be fixed too. This is an issue with the Composite extension. When an application grabs the server, nothing gets drawn because the compositing manager is not having its requests processed. The logout dialog is "there", its just not drawn, so you can actually push all the invisible buttons and they will work. Pressing return will log you out. > This issue was already asked in the main fedora-list, but I wonder if > the solution found there still applies in this case. > What was the solution found there? Message-ID: <4207B67B.3020103@prodigy.net.mx> I was wondering how easy would it be to do capture screen action to a movie file... What I want to do do is something similar to what Apple has done to show off their OSX where you can see some on-screen actions, like opening X or Y program, then switch tasks, etc, etc. I was wondering if there is a program for Linux (ok, for X) that would allow you to do exactly that, and then be able to transcode that into an .ogm file, for instance. If so what's that program and where do I get it?? I want to do a series of tutorials for my family, but instead of me being present at each computer, they could only open the file, see how a certain task is done and that's about it. I hate to be such a noob, but I haven't seen anything that would allow me to launch any desktop upon server login (like vncserver :2 -name foo -depth 24 -geometry 1024x768) how can I specify a session? I've had this issue with some previous versions of GNOME/RH. From memory, the problem was that gnome-session or something wanted to ask a question and popped up some yes/no box, but the window manager either wasn't there anymore or didn't function, or whatever, anyway the box stayed in the background and couldn't be seen or acknowledged. I suppose, xlsclients or xlsatoms, used from a VT session might help identifying these kinds of problems. Cheers Steffen. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I understood you the first time, but I haven't access to a FC3 workstation at the moment, so my response may not be 100% accurate on details. The gdm in FC3 disables, by default, tcp connections to the X server. You need to change the option DisallowTCP to false, in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf. I recently installed Fedora Core 3 and set up the system with nary a glitch and logged in using my regular account under GNOME. After installing, I used up2date to update all my packages. I then logged out, choosing "Save Current Settings." When I restarted and tried to log back in using my regular account and GNOME, after entering my password it would show the splash screen briefly, show that it was loading the first couple items on the splash screen, and then I'd get a blank blue screen. (The FC3 BSOD?) I was able to Ctrl-Alt-Del to access the logout/shutdown dialog and log out, and could then log into the system using my regular account under KDE without problems. I can also log in using GNOME or KDE as root. Any ideas what could be going on? Any hardware info you need?
