I think you can install this on Rawhide, yes, and once this lands in Rawhide the upgrade path should work. But as Richard said.. if it breaks you get to keep both pieces :-) > p.s. thanks for your effort. i definitely appreciate it. Eventually though... Just a comment, feel free to ignore me, but I'm rather confused as to how you can announce (by proxy) something for FC-5 but not think it's ready for rawhide. If it's not ready for even the most bleeding edge of bleeders, maybe you should have waited a bit before showing the commercial to FC-5 users? Dropping it into rawhide might help with the bug squashing. :-) From davidz at redhat.com Wed Apr 12 21:59:25 2006 From: davidz at redhat.com (David Zeuthen) Date: Wed, 12 Apr 2006 17:59:25 -0400 Subject: [Fwd: If you want bleeding edge...] In-Reply-To: <443C2477.3030709@redhat.com> References: <1144193349.31422.137.camel@daxter.boston.redhat.com> <1144251209.5636.4.camel@daxter.boston.redhat.com> <443C2477.3030709@redhat.com> Message-ID: <1144879165.27325.1.camel@daxter.boston.redhat.com> On Tue, 2006-04-11 at 17:49 -0400, Christopher Aillon wrote: > Just a comment, feel free to ignore me, but I'm rather confused as to > how you can announce (by proxy) something for FC-5 but not think it's > ready for rawhide. I presume that people using repositories named "Utopia experimental for $basearch" know what they are doing. > Dropping it into rawhide might help with the > bug squashing. :-) Sure, but chunks of functionality is missing and it needs a security review. Rawhide is not a dumping ground, at least it shouldn't be. David
