There's no way to have a discussion about this 'within the next few
hours'. It is weekend, and some people try to have a few hours off on
those... 

If you ask me, it is just too late to make a giant stink about a minor
thing. We could have had this discussion after the beta, but nobody
complained then. Now we are post-RC, and suddenly people propose drastic
measures with deadlines of only a few hours. 

I've asked Richard to look at doing a 0-day update to fix the more
serious problems.
