OK, I just checked with tromey, and we think we can write a makefile
that allows you to install a stanadrd jpackage and then do a "make".
For example, this rule does the building, where needed:
%.so: %.jar
gcj -o $@ blah blah $<
%.db: %.so
gcj-dbtool -o $@ db/$(basename $<).jar $<
... etc.
