Strong ACK. I've used Red Hat 6.2 with GNOME and Enlightenment as
my home desktop machine until recently on a 350MHz P2 machine. I've
now upgraded to a 2600MHz P4 with 1G RAM and FC1. And what can I say...
it's NOT feeling quicker (the GUI), but it (metacity) lacks serious
capabilites I've used all the time. You can't even force window
stacking.

I'd like to see Enlightenment coming back as window manager choice
(if not default), which is correctly integrated into the GNOME
environment. My own experiments to bring back my desktop to the same
usablility as my RHL 6.2 box had were not successful as Enlightenment's
concept of "virtual desktops" seems to be incompatible with GNOME's,
or I don't find the right knob to fiddle with - I am by no way GUI
stuff savvy. :-)

Best regards,
Daniel
