While I don't want to discount this, I'd like to state here the
problem with it.  GNOME is basically on a 6-month cycle.  We are
trying to go just a trifle faster than 6 months; we say 2-3 times
a year.  To go that fast, we will narrowly miss a GNOME release,
Then we'll catch up over a few releases...  We delayed FC1 enough
that GNOME 2.4 got in it; so to my mind that's the in-sync release
and it will be a few more releases before we are back in sync.

So even if we were to pick up GNOME 2.6 this time, we would have
the same discussion every release until we bit the bullet.
