We never disagreed. GNU/Linux is easy. Maybe not as much as it could be,
but it's getting better.

However, it is a "requirement" that you have an idea of what you are
doing if you want to do something. It is a mistake to think that knowing
what you're doing is not necessary.

That guy is an idiot or said a stupid phrase, or did not think what he
was saying or you're misquoting (I hope I covered all hypothesis).

You didn't read what I said. If GNU/Linux is "so hard" then I shouldn't
have much trouble using Windows, don't you think?

That's not what I meant about graphical boot. The default FC boot has a
graphical way to express the system setting itself up until you're
presented with the login screen. That part is called rhgb (RedHat
Graphical Boot, I think) and it slows boot as hell!

If this is really important for you, try editing /etc/sysconfig/init and
set the parameter 'GRAPHICAL' to 'no':

# Turn on graphical boot
GRAPHICAL=no

DHCP client is not a service. network is the service. One of the network
cards (or 'the' if you only have one) uses DHCP.

If there is a problem (like, for instance, a bad cable, or cable not
inserted, etc...) boot is slowed down because the system is waiting for
the dhcp server (your ISP perhaps?) to say something.

That has an easy answer. Learn!

There's a good manual here:
http://rute.sourceforge.net/

I'm having a problem accessing it right now, but I have an older copy I
can mail to you if you can't access rute.

Ah... LOL ok, you're thinking the scrool is one button... well, it
isn't. It's usually three buttons (up, down and vertical clicks).

There's also software to catch the other buttons, IIRC, but since I
don't use any of those kinds of mice, I haven't any experience to lend
you.

That is totally not done by the mouse but by some magic software
Logitech supplies that will work _on_top_ of the mouse driver, which
just basically gets info on what buttons have been pressed and movement
signals.

While you think, take a look at rute.
