What exactly is Sean's vision? It might be just me, but I don't think
that became clear in the controversy due to misunderstandings (e.g.
with regard to optional [versioned] build requirements). Maybe someone
can sum up a few major flaws in current "RPM packaging" with regard to
packagers and package users and outline the changes that are supposed
to improve the situation.

Btw, if you're asking for major efforts to make the life easier for a
tiny group of users, who stick to an old distribution and who want to
install the latest and greatest software in form of prebuilt packages
nevertheless, I think that's a hopeless venture due to API and ABI
changes.
