This bug should only be open upstream on bugzilla.gnome.org. The
functionality here is in vte, rather than gnome-terminal. gnome-terminal
is just the menubar and prefs dialog. Mariano is the main maintainer
now, but he isn't responsible for vte.

A fix is welcome here, but anything involving bad transparency hacks
used purely for eye candy is going to be low in the priority queue for
most of the developers ;-) That doesn't stop someone who finds it high
priority from hacking on a fix, though.
