php-imap is not in the list of deps for squirrelmail.
(icarus pts4) # rpm -q --requires squirrelmail
/bin/sh
/usr/bin/env
/usr/sbin/sendmail
config(squirrelmail) = 1.2.11-1
httpd
httpd
perl
perl
php >= 4.0.4
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
tmpwatch >= 2.8
(icarus pts4) #
AFAIK you only need an imap server.
