Right, for MRTG 2 it is merely strongly recommended (since it improves
performance by 80% vs. «rateup»); for MRTG 3 it will be The One True Way.
In either case, having RRDtool as a package would be usefull whichever
monitoring tool is chosen. Depending on IRL constraints, I may be interested
in working on this (if I ever get around to figuring out the proper process).
