Fortunatly it didn't do it. I have been able to track it down to a
problem in /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession.

This is the error I get:
/etc/X11/gdm/PreSession/Default: Registering your session with wtmp and
utmp
/etc/X11/gdm/PreSession/Default: running: /usr/bin/X11/sessreg -a -w
/var/log/wtmp -u /var/run/utmp -x "/var/gdm/:0.Xservers" -h "" -l ":0"
"cpedersen"
/etc/X11/xdm/Xsession: line 126: /usr/bin/ssh-agent
/etc/X11/xinit/Xclients: No
such file or directory
/etc/X11/xdm/Xsession: line 126: exec: /usr/bin/ssh-agent
/etc/X11/xinit/Xclients: cannot execute: No such file or directory

When I login from the console I have access to these files, which is
kind of strange.

In /etc/sysconfig/desktop
DESKTOP=GNOME (I have tried with DESKTOP="GNOME")

The "funny" thing is that I had the same problem some years back, but I
cannot remember what the solution was...

I will have to take Xsession apart to see why it actually fails.

Thanks.

Regards/Casper
