Getting gfortran...safely

The gfortran package should not conflict with the main system compiler. 
It's installed in a different directory and binaries have a -ssa suffix.
You can also get daily snapshots from the yum repository at
http://people.redhat.com/dnovillo/pub/tree-ssa/snapshot/
