I am writing a channel selector for a package management tool to be used
with fedora. Integrated in the selector is a ping utility to test
mirror connections.
While testing I noticed download.fedora.redhat is not responding to
pings.
traceroute hangs with
[dfarning at localhost dfarning]# traceroute download.fedora.redhat.com
traceroute: Warning: download.fedora.redhat.com has multiple addresses;

Ping download.fedora.redhat.com also fails on a nearby windows box.
Weird. Is this intentional or a side effect of
download.fedora.redhat.com's redirect to ftp servers....or is the
problem at my end?
Thanks
