Two versions of the gimp?

Please dont complicate things with dbl packages my client base is tough
enough to maintain with one version of everthing as is.
I am trying avoid questions like "What the difference between aaaa.ver1
and aaaa.ver2 ?" when all I know is one is new bigger and better than
the other.
