That assumes that using Firefox is somehow more difficult than Epiphany 
(in this context). Which it is not, you don't need to fiddle around with 
dozens of options to get it working, it "just works". So does Epiphany, 
but it lacks many real-world useful features which both Mozilla and 
Firefox have.

Certainly not, those are word processors not text editors.

Viewing no, for all it's might Gimp is not suitable for that purpose at 
all. For editing, absolutely.
