If you are running FC1 or FC2, install firefox or thunderbird from
Extras stable. Those show you exactly how it would work in FC3. Nice
looking icons for firefox and thunderbird are dropped into the Internet
menu. And you can use the Preferred Applications dialog to choose
firefox and thunderbird as your chosen apps. The Preferred Application
thing works very well on FC2 and FC3, but FC1 has problems. Legacy may
want to consider doing simple changes to control-center and gnome-vfs2
to bring FC1's Preferred Applications capability to par with FC2 and
FC3. That would be their call.
