If Eclipse and the other Java stuff were moved to extras, gcc4 could go
as well. Drop that and compat-gcc (and maybe the other compat-packages)
and it would be close.
Unpopular choices:
- emacs vs. xemacs
- mysql vs. postgresql
- mozilla vs. firefox/thunderbird
- openoffice.org vs. koffice vs. abiword
I don't see GNOME vs. KDE as an option; both are pretty much required to
provide a complete desktop. XFCE however could go.
Would there be a way to divide up the i18n stuff? Maybe move the Asian
support (which seems to be a large bit of space) to a separate disc?

I don't speak for anybody but myself - that's enough trouble.
