because... there are "no user logged-in" situations that never see gdm
or any dm running.
If this solution is a script that gdm's default PreSession runs thats
fine... the point is it can't be tied into the guts of gdm... it needs
to be a general solution for the no user case. Something
shellscriptable works as a general solution. Looking around here for
example... the thinclients at this facility aren't actually running
gdm in the no login case.
