Actually, even if you upgrade gdm but keep gdm.conf file from the old 
install (e.g. new gdm installs gdm.conf.rpmnew instaed), you'll have a 
problem. I think it is a must to use the new configuration for gdm as 
well, as the old stuff does not work at all.
