Actually it makes a huge difference.  Where are updates going to come
from?  What other deps will I have to install to get this rpm in?  What
core software might be replaced by these deps that I have to watch out
for?  What is the likelihood that this software will be maintained in
the future when security or bug reports are made?  What happens when we
upgrade OS releases, etc. etc..  Admins care greatly where their
software comes from.
