Well I seem to remember one of the Fedora releases slipping a week or
two to allow a gnome release. I can't see them doing it for a single
application. OO in FC4 is a pre-release, it was and still is during
the whole devel and release period, but then the features and
stability was deamed a trade off, and it gives the newly included cgj
java a good workout. Its easier to ship a beta of a single application
and role back if necessary as opposed to an entire desktop
environment. In the former its easier to hedge your bets and role
back, with an entire env its easier slipping the schedule a week or
two if the RCs are looking OK than having to role it back later, but
by then the devel releases may well have had testing in devel and look
OK and the decision would be made on that.... application or platform!
