Suspend problems on a thinkpad?

>From a discussion here last week I think those disk errors are
relating to the HPA (Host Protected Areas). I am 100% sure what it's
all about, but as far as I can tell, its related to the hidden space
the Thinkpad maintains on disk for diagnostic tools and Windows
recovery.

I believe it's possible to disable it but I suspect that might
interfere with the Windows side of things. I think I'll wait for a fix
(which I belive someone is working on, but I can't find any Bugzilla
entries!).

BTW: I notice that Ubuntu 5.10 live cd can suspend/unsuspend my
Thinkpad T41p, but FC5 to-date cannot (that however might have
something to do with it being a Live CD).
