IT821x force pass through mode incantation?

I'm trying to force the it8212 raid controller into noraid mode and am
having problems figuring out the proper incantation on the kernel command line.

I'm running FC5 kernel 2080.

I've tried "it821x=noraid"
           "it8212=noraid"
           "it821x.noraid"

and a few other variations.

Does anyone have the proper information?

I'm detecting failure to force "pass through" mode from the dmesg line that
the driver tosses out always having "smart" mode printed.
