Exactly.  They have quite a few Gnome-slimming patches of interest, like
killing Bonobo until it's dead dead dead.  Many of those are already
upstream, or are going upstream to Gnome, AIUI.  There's activity in
this area that has nothing to do with OLPC specifically, but from which
OLPC and others could benefit.  So for the OLPC project, that means
working with upstream projects and others like Maemo to ensure that the
software is suitable for lower-end systems across the board.
