1. yum install synaptic
2. synaptic
3. select the package from the list
4. Package / Force version
5. pick the version from the list
6. OK
7. Apply
8. OK
That's it. :-) No --force --nodeps needed.

With RPM itself, use --oldpackage rather than --force --nodeps.
