 Yup.

 I'm trying (I hope) to avoid this; as a long time self righteous arsehole, I 
reserve the right to self-deprecate at the drop of a hat. Otherwise I'm happy 
to defer ..

 It's not off topic; we're trying to find a solution to a problem in Fedora 
(and in GNOME, KDE and other desktops, in the process).

 FWIW, you've made some damn good points, and I would like to thank you for 
your time rather than criticise.
