All rawhide kernels now have SMP turned on by default, even for UP
machines.
On my Latitude 610 (single PIII 1.2GHz) I get:
[localhost ~]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.16-1.2204_FC6 #1 SMP Tue May 16 14:44:33 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[localhost ~]# rpm -qv kernel
kernel-2.6.16-1.2204_FC6
