Filing the bug upstream so that it gets fixed up there is the best bet.  
Fedora (and everybody else that uses k3b) will then pick up the change next 
time they pull a new release from KDE.

Once KDE does fix it upstream, it might be prudent filing a bugzilla for the 
update to the new upstream version to fix problems $foo and $bar...
