Great work indeed! Maybe someone could quickly go through some open
bugs and try to find some that are easily reproducible and which would
involve the careful debugging you're looking for?

FWIW, I can reproduce this one very easily on my machine :

rm -rf ~/.torcs/
torcs
... then press "enter" many times to start a "quick race"
... start driving and "bump" into anything (car or scenery)
-> Segfault :-(

On the machine I'm testing this on, the NVidia binary drivers are
installed. I doubt it might have anything to do as this seems more
related to sound, but who knows. My audio device is an integrated
"Intel Corporation 631xESB/632xESB High Definition Audio Controller"

Please have your students reply to the bug report if they need me to do
any kind of testing for them, provide a core file etc. This can
actually be interesting debugging, and good practice for the (not so
uncommon) case where you need to guide someone who can reproduce the
problem ;-)
