You could always add an ACL to the device node--that is what
ConsoleKit does.
getfacl /dev/dsp
getfacl /dev/snd/*
setfacl -m user:<yourusername>:rw- /dev/dsp
setfacl -m user:<yourusername>:rw- /dev/snd/*
BTW, why are you using /dev/dsp which is an OSS device?
