Yes.

Depends on the SCM.

Add the file sizes and the administrational stuff to the SCM and it's
several 10's GB in size.

Storage - What the "FE buildsystem" does is more a flat database but a
real SCM, with 10's of dozens of branches and 10000's of microscopic
differences between files.
