check-buildroot failure

I'm getting the following build error:

/usr/lib/rpm/check-buildroot
/var/tmp/libgssapi-0.11-root/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/libgssapi.pc:prefix=/var/tmp/libgssapi-0.11-root
Found '/var/tmp/libgssapi-0.11-root' in installed files; aborting
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.75914 (%install)

I've search this list and others, found nothing... In
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/Guidelines I did find
a section about removing rpaths... even thought the error on the
wiki page is different than the one I'm getting I figured I would
try... I've tried both suggested ways of removing rpaths
with no success.

So what exactly do I need to do to get pass this failure?

<rant>
imho... this error message "in installed files; aborting"
is completely unacceptable because its meaningless.
I'll be opening a bz on this script, but people who author
these type of scripts, *PLEASE* be as explicit as possible
as to exactly what the problem is. People who have a
clue only needed clue to fix the problem... Error
messages like leave people who have a clue... clueless...
</rant>

steved.
