If you are going to do this, how about we also make an effort to
catalog these missing-firmware devices for Fedora project's purposes
as well?

Short term, having a gui wizard as a "must get this working NOW" fix
to assuage the emotions of end-users maybe of modest value.

But if we want to fix this long term. project contributors who care
about the issue need to be able to get a grasp on the number of Fedora
users using said hardware so those contributors can go and work with
vendors for a long term solution so users don't have to deal with this
at all.

So perhaps the wizard, if it comes into being, can be done such that
it phones home back to the Fedora project so information concerning
the devices which need firmware, and the number of users attempting to
use each device. Unless of course this sort of information is already
buried inside the smolt treasure trove. If so... then users of the gui
should be encourage to register their system with smolt to make sure
the Fedora project has the information.
