pup: boon or curse? quicker updates or slower updates?

It's a considerably better user experience than forcing the user to
manually check for updates. However pup tends to lock yum and the fact
that it doesn't update the GUI and as such looks like it crashed is the
single thing I get the most complaints about with Fedora from the users
I talk to.

Theres definitely room for improvement in pup but having an easy update
manager that informs the user is not an option we should go without.
