User directories integration - request for help

It would be really trivial to implement language switching if user
exposed directories are symlinks. 

So that actual directories should be hidden with lowercase
(ie. .downloads, .pictures), and symlinks can be translated directory
names, which could be easily created on login time w/ a small bash
profile script. 

By this way, actual directories can stay with standard names.
