Why does nautilus create folders in my home directory by default?

[mclasen at dhcp83-33 ~]$ grep Videos .config/user-dirs.dirs 
[mclasen at dhcp83-33 ~]$ rmdir Videos
[mclasen at dhcp83-33 ~]$ xdg-user-dirs-update 
/home/mclasen/Videos was removed, reassigning VIDEOS to homedir
[mclasen at dhcp83-33 ~]$ grep VIDEOS  .config/user-dirs.dirs 

Seems to work here.
