Hey, with .3194, appears that the 'signal strength' indicators in
NetworkManager come up working properly!

iwl3945/NM works in my 'single strong AP' environment (I'm @home,
about 1 meter from AP).

I'll keep my fingers crossed when I test @work in a couple of hours
(multiple weaker APs, lots of reassociation).....
