What if what you have on your system isn't on the single CD you want to
use to upgrade? Leave half your software unupgraded ?
For upgrades you want access to the entire package set, or a good sized
portion. Really what you want to do is boot from media that has stage1
and stage2 (rescue iso works for this) and has the ability to point to
a network location of all the packages for the upgrade.
