How require one out of many packages?

Ville has started to collect these kind of provides in a list[1], maybe this 
can be included in the Guidelines to make sure, that this is uniform, e.g. 
wget provides webclient, but curl does not. But webclient is not good enough, 
because also firefox provides webclient.
