Calling any text editor for any text file

I asked my friend and he told me that mousepad (already on the list) is
a good choice for a try with Xfce.
But, Xfce users, other propositions for Xfce are welcome.

A nice hack :). But it probably works.
I will think about some optimizations.

xdg-open for open operation uses mime types and assigned application.
I'm not sure how application for edit operation should be defined/choose.
