Yes. Back than it was a new idea with lots of potential. You can't
just follow the established norm all the time, otherwise progress
would not be possible. Sometimes you have to change.

Now, I think that initially the change was rushed into Prod without
proper testing, but that's watter under the bridge. It was hoped that
once people would get used to the new feature, they would love it.
That's reasonable. However, we gave it more than enough time (4 years!)
for this to happen. It didn't pan out as hoped. 

There is plenty of circumstantial evidence to warrant a second look
at that decision. And yes, this time around the same arguments that
were put forward 4 years ago have more weight 'cause we have the
hindsight of the last 4 years.
