Such two-line message for each such missing file? OK.

Sure `yum install' is not acceptable upstream. Local patch changing the
wording a bit would be fine (configure.in detection of each specific
OS/installing-tool is IMO not appropriate upstream).
Accepted, F8/F9 update should be fine.
