Hi,
The target audiences are different. The package database is (mostly)
targeted at people interested in the plumbing of Fedora. The
(upcoming) application list is targeted at people who are looking for
applications to install and 'do stuff' with. It isn't quite ready for a
public bashing yet (next week), but the feature page is here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/ApplicationInstaller
To be clear, we're getting our information from the package DB (among
other places).
Also, Owen's plugin should be easy to add to package DB as well.
