And you installed that on a machine you'd never installed before or you
formatted the disk?

B/c there is no way you get yum 3.2.8 from 9Beta.

Just not possible.

Anyway - it doesn't matter:
run:
yum update yum\*


then re-run your earlier command. problem solved.
