Tidy up of the xs-0.5 yum repo - what differentiates OLPC's XS from vanilla Fedora?

A useful bit of info, and a chance ot say thanks :-) The composition
on the XS release 0.5 breaks down like this.

A couple of packages that are in Fedora rawhide (or making a beeline
for it), but we needed ahead of time - thanks to the many Fedorans
that jumped in and helped!:

./pam_sotp-0.3.3-3.fc9.i386.rpm
./rssh-2.3.2-1.fc7.i386.rpm
./rssh-2.3.2-5.fc7.i386.rpm
./rssh-debuginfo-2.3.2-1.fc7.i386.rpm
./rssh-debuginfo-2.3.2-5.fc7.i386.rpm
./usbmount-0.15.6.olpc-1.xs7.noarch.rpm
./fakeroot-1.9.6-16.fc7.i386.rpm (an old, buggy version is in F9)
./fakeroot-debuginfo-1.9.6-16.fc7.i386.rpm

A couple packages with custom patches...
./ejabberd-xs-2.0.1-10.xs9.olpc.i386.rpm
./ejabberd-xs-2.0.1-11.fc9.olpc.i386.rpm
./moodle-xs-1.9.2.xs2.13.gdeb43cf-1.xs9.noarch.rpm

And some written-from-scratch packages -

./ds-backup-server-0.8.1-1.olpc3.noarch.rpm
./idmgr-0.7-1.xs9.noarch.rpm
./xs-activation-0.2.7.geb968d2-1.xs9.noarch.rpm
./xs-activity-server-0.2.9.g60b6827-1.xs9.noarch.rpm
./xs-callhome-0.1.0-4.noarch.rpm
./xs-config-0.5.6.gb81ed4d-1.noarch.rpm
./xs-otp-0.4.7.g0a0d328-1.xs9.noarch.rpm
./xs-pkgs-0.10-1.noarch.rpm
./xs-release-9-0.4.13.noarch.rpm
./xs-rsync-0.5.2.gb8bf5d4-1.xs7.noarch.rpm
./xs-tools-0.4.5.g40d79c0-1.xs9.noarch.rpm

Luckily, the OLPC XS delta isn't as large or as punishing as the XO
delta. We do use anaconda and yum in perhaps new and unexpected ways
-- we're right now hurting a bit on those fronts. OTOH, just like the
XO, we need smaller memory and disk footprints, through
less/better/smaller daemons and smarter, tighter dependencies (which
have improved quite a bit lately - thanks!).

cheers,
