If you do it without milters, can you get the efficiency factor that 
MimeDefang manages by unpacking the mime parts only once even if you do 
multiple scans for spam and viruses?  Can it multiplex a small number of 
milter backends doing 'slow' steps with a much larger number of mailers 
doing fast operations? (MimeDefang may be the only milter designed for 
that).
